The island of São Nicolau – also known as the “island of Chiquinho” (a unique character in the novel by Baltazar Lopes da Silva) – is known for its mountains, its main town (Ribeira Brava) and for being the seat of Cape Verde diocese.
Preguiça Aerodrome, also known as São Nicolau Aerodrome, halfway between Ribeira Brava, Caleijão and Preguiça, has a 1,400m long and 23m wide runway and a capacity to receive up to two aircraft. In 2018, it registered a movement of 23,536 passengers.
